Hi, LIFE Runners -

This is the point in the schedule when the training gets considerably more challenging: hot/humid weather, longer miles, nursing injuries, vacation running, etc. Offer all of these sacrifices up as a prayer for the freedom of the Unborn and their parents. Remember we are all out there pounding the miles together in Spirit. The attached picture was taken at Howard Wood Field soon before the start of the 2009 Sioux Falls Half Marathon...looking forward to getting our team picture taken in 9 wks!

ACTIVITIES (10-11 Sep): Let me know if you are able to join the following activities.
* Tour of O'G High School (8 AM, Sat):
* Tour of Sioux Falls (10 AM, Sat): Meet at Howard Wood Stadium...we will follow the race course!
* Mass at St. Theresa (4 PM, Sat):
* Prerace Pasta Meal (5:30 PM, Sat, Sue/Bill Peters home): For food planning, please let me know if you are bringing guests.

REGISTRATION: Sioux Falls Marathon.

TEAM WEBSITES: Facebook Marathons for ProLife page and Marathons for ProLife blogsite (resources).

PRO-LIFE FUNDRAISER: We will add up our team donations...last year we raised over $2100. Ask your friends/family to sponsor you for $/mile to raise $ for the Sioux Falls Alpha Center (crisis pregnancies) Fleet for Little Feet (FFLF) bus. Kimberly Martinez (director), "The FFLF allows us to travel around the state and into other states to reach women with free pregnancy tests, ultrasound, STD testing, material support and the great news of Jesus Christ."
* For sponsoring runners, go to Alpha Center "donate" link...when you get to PayPal "review your donation" screen, click on the "comments" link (left of total) and write "LIFE Runners."
* Sue Peters is promoting our fundraising efforts. She has contacted KSFY & KELO TV, O'G Re-U-Knighter & Knight Scroll, Bishops Bulletin...and is working on connecting with parish youth coordinators & bulletins.
.
PRAYER: Aaron Ferrie shared this inspirational prayer...to untie any "nots" that creep into our training: "THE KNOTS PRAYER. Dear God, please untie the knots that are in my mind, my heart, my life. Remove the have nots, the can nots, and the do nots that I have in my mind. Erase all the will nots, might nots that may find a home in my heart. Release me from the could nots, would nots that obstruct my life. And most of all Dear God; I ask that you remove from my mind, my heart and my life all the “am nots” that I have allowed to hold me back, especially the thought, that I am not good enough."
.
To honor the "Spirit" of this marathon (for ProLife), let's all stay focused with our training...in defense of the Unborn (prayerful running, jersey, fundraising)!

Run for ProLife!, Pat
